Kangal Dog

The Kangal Dog is the national dog of Turkey. They have been used for thousands of years as livestock guardian dogs, protecting sheep and goat herds on the east-central plains of Turkey. The breed is a national treasure in Turkey. They are certainly treasured on our farm where they work to protect our livestock from coyotes, stray dogs and bear.

The Kangal Dog is recognized in the United States as a breed with the United Kennel Club. The Kangal Dog Club of America works diligently to promote and uphold the breed standard for these magnificent dogs.
